HTC’s Black Friday weekend sale was a huge success! With an incredible trade-in promotion for the HTC One A9 and 40% discounts on the Nexus 9 and HTC One M9, HTC manages to increase its year-over-year sales by 731% in the US. Leading the charge was the HTC One A9 trade-in program which essentially gave the phone away for free with a qualifying trade in. HTC claims that 10% of users who took advantage of the offer traded in an iPhone 6 or newer to get their hands on the new HTC One A9.
We don’t know how much HTC sold last year, but we’re not too surprised by HTC’s seven-fold increase in sales since last year’s Black Friday weekend offerings paled in comparison to what was available this year.
“HTC America increased year-over-year sales on HTC.com by 731% during Black Friday/Cyber Monday. The most notable Holiday Hot Deal offer was an HTC One A9 for as low as $0 with a qualifying trade-in. More than 10% of the customers who purchased were iPhone 6 or newer users. Other HTC Holiday Hot Deals included: 40% off the Nexus 9 tablet, 60% off the RE Camera, 40% off the HTC One M9 and 40% off accessories. As a result of consumer demand, HTC will continue the HTC One A9 trade-in offer until January 7, 2016.”
