You can now pre-order the HTC VIVE Wireless Adapter

First unveiled at CES 2018, the HTC VIVE Wireless Adapter is now up for pre-order. The VIVE Wireless Adapter itself costs $299, but you’ll also need to purchase a $60 wireless attachment kit if you’re picking up the VIVE Wireless Adapter for the Vive Pro. The purchase of the Vive Wireless Adapter does include a 2-month VIVEPORT subscription (roughly a $20 value).

For those who are not familiar with the new Vive accessory, the Wireless Adapter allows the HTC Vive and Vive pro to ditch their tethered wire connection to the PC, allowing for a near-zero latency VR experience. The Adapter uses Intel’s WiGig technology which has also be used in several third-party wireless adapters for the Vive.

Right now, HTC is only allowing consumers to purchase one VIVE Wireless Adapter, but you should be able to pick up more if needed once it ships within the next 4-6 weeks.

Do you think HTC’s new $299 Vive accessory is worth the price? Share your thoughts in the comments.
