HTC: the U11, U Ultra and HTC 10 will be getting the Android Oreo update

HTC has officially confirmed that at least three of its phones will be getting the Android Oreo update. These devices include the HTC U11, HTC U Ultra and last year’s HTC 10. While there are other devices in HTC’s lineup which will likely be getting the update s well, HTC isn’t quite ready to name them.

As always, each device needs to be evaluated individually since HTC needs to work directly with the chip manufacturers to make sure they update their drivers to support the new Android Oreo update. HTC did not share any details regarding timing, but the company was on Google’s list of manufacturers which are expected to release Oreo updates to their devices before 2017 comes to an end.  HTC has typically released its Android updated for its current-year flagship devices within 90 days. If that trend continues, the HTC U11 should receive its Android Oreo update before the second half of November.

Which Android Oreo features are you looking forward to the most?

  1. Yeah, that would be the best, if HTC did like OnePlus and decided not to update a 1 year and 5 months old flaship. And, to be honest, HTC as been worst than ever regarding updates since, as you know, with the exception of the American version, the unlocked versions of the HTC 10 are not updated for 7 months, are still with the January security patch and Android 7.0, when 7.1.2 has been out for some time now.
I expect them to update the HTC 10 not less than 9 months from now, as Samsung used to do.

  2. & this is the reason I upgraded my M9 to a 10. I should’ve waited another few months to upgrade from the M9 but, it’s cool. We’re getting 8.0 and that’s a reason to celebrate 👍🏽😎👍🏽
