HTC One A9 boosts HTC monthly revenue to 6-month high

HTC’s monthly numbers are, showing a 15% increase in revenue over October. Total revenue for the month reached NT$10.29 billion ($314 million USD), the highest number we’ve seen from HTC in six months. As with November’s revenue numbers, the increase is mainly attributed to sales of the new HTC One A9 which made its way to the US and European markets in late October. Analysts are predicting that HTC’s revenue for December will be even higher due to holiday sales and One A9 moving into more markets in Asia.

While the numbers appear to be going in HTC’s favor, things don’t look that great when compared to last year. November’s numbers are down 39.25% YoY and HTC’s year-to-date revenue figures are tracking at -33% when matched up to 2014. HTC’s internal reorganization will help the company save some money, but HTC truly needs a killer smartphone lineup if it wants to full its head out of the water and truly compete in 2016.

    1. HTC is competing with all the companies you mentioned. They simply haven’t been real competitive. The reason for this mainly comes down to marketing and how HTC positions its devices. When HTC build custom devices for Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T those service providers invested a lot of money to promote and market those phones. Back then, HTC was the front runner.

Now, HTC is technically building better devices, but it isn’t getting marketing support from its distributors and the company has no clue how to put together a compelling marketing strategy to promote its devices on its own.

If they want to be competitive, they need to invest heavily into a marketing strategy that will show people why HTC devices are better than anything the competition has to offer.
