Rumored HTC One X9 puts the One A9 to shame

UPDATE: Looks like the HTC One X9 specs from this article have changed with new information from different sources.

The HTC One A9 has just gone on sale, but that’s not stopping the internet from spreading rumors regarding the phone’s successor. According to various sources on Weibo, HTC is working on a new phone named the HTC One X9. As you can see in the image above, the design of the HTC One X9 is a cross between the HTC Butterfly family and the HTC One A9 with a few features pulled from the Nexus 9. From what we can see, the back of the HTC One X9 is pretty similar to that of the One A9, but the camera appears to be placed in the top left corner rather than being centered along the top.

As for specs, the rumors indicate that there may be at least two variants of the HTC One X9 with different processors. The HTC One X9 is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or a MediaTek Helio X20 with a QHD display which measures at least 5 inches. The phone will also sport 4GB of RAM, 64 or 128GB of internal storage, a 23 megapixel main camera, 4 Ultrapixel front-facing camera and a 3,500 mAh battery.

While we always love hearing about new HTC phones, we don’t want you to get your hopes up for the HTC One X9. There’s a good chance that the specs could change over the next few months and we have our doubts about the design itself. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on any new HTC One X9 details that pop up.
