HTC One M9/Hima poses for a few glamour shots

The HTC M9 Plus may be a more interesting device, but that’s not stopping the HTC One (M9) from jumping back into the headlines today with a few new pictures. Phandroid and nowhereelse have managed to dig up a few new images of the HTC One (M9) which confirm the design details that we first shared two days ago. As we shared, the HTC One (M9) have a power button on the side and features two separate buttons for volume control.

Some of the images appear to show a color discrepancy between the front and back of the HTC One (M9), but we’ll attribute that design oddity to the fact that we’re looking at non-final test units. We’ve seen the same thing in the past with leaked images of the HTC One (M8) before the phone was officially unveiled. When the first leaked images of the HTC One (M9) hit the web, we were hoping that “new” design was a decoy to throw us off. Unfortunately, that appears to be very unlikely now that we’ve seen nearly a dozen images of the phone along with press renders and a few cases as well.

Do you think HTC is making the right decision with the HTC One (M9) by keeping most of the design features from last year’s HTC One (M8)?

  1. the “squircle” camera is growing on me, im liking it but if htc dosnt show tremendous upgrades in camera and battery then people might as well go with the M8, not worth an extra $100/$200

    1. Scared? I’d say they are fine tuning a design that won the company more than a dozen different awards in 2014.

      1. Fine tuning is the best you’ve got. The m8 won awards the m7 won awards but for what its styling. Both phones are nice looking phones but I’ve had three m7 handsets and have all broke the noise cancelling microphone being the culprit and I know for a fact the m8 suffers from this fault as well , also the phones were coming with cracked camera lenses so if styling is all they’ve got them I am out due to many faults.

        1. My HTC one m8 is the only phone I had that I still love after 7 months. Building quality is great, battery life, smoothness, night shots, etc. Can’t speak for the M7, though.

          1. Your lucky google the problems with the m8 and m7 and another problem with theses phones is reparability for diy repairs are almost impossible they need to be more more repair friendly.

          2. Practically every phone these days is a b**** to repair because we want everything to get thinner every iteration. You cant fit screws in a thinner device.

  2. bad ideea to keep same design, maybe the hardware will save it, but for those who had M7, M8 is arleady boring

      1. Yeah, the design has basically been reused for 2 years. If the internals and the camera is all that is changing, HTC will have a problem getting customers to upgrade. Please HTC, surprise us all and have some new features.

  3. I had the M7 and have the M8 and really like the progression. Can’t wait for the M9 and if the design is similar it’s no bad thing as the design of the M8 is stunning.

  4. As long as it’s evolutionary and different enough it’s good!
And .. as long as it has that extra zing of HTC zip charisma hardware polish.
That is so lacking in the other plasphablet world.
