AT&T may have started testing the ultimate selfie phone from HTC in early July, but that doesn’t mean the device will be an AT&T exclusive. A Tweet from @UpLeaks now claims that the HTC Eye will be offered by AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile in the US. Based on this new information, it’s not that big of a stretch to assume the HTC Eye will also be picked up by service providers across Europe and Asia as well.
It’s nice to know that the HTC Eye will be made available to as many US customers as possible, but we still have no clue why anyone would want to buy the phone besides the fact it should offer a better selfie experience than the HTC One (M8) and the HTC Desire 816. None of the HTC Eye rumors have given an any clues regarding specs, size or design materials. HTC’s selfie phone could turn out to be a mid-range phone with an incredible front-facing camera or a high-end alternative to the HTC One (M8).
We’ll have to wait for the rumored fourth quarter launch to find out more.
HTC Eye will be headed to AT&T, T-Mobile US, Verizon, Sprint.
