After accidentally publishing its video overview of the HTC One (E8) a few weeks back, Sprint has finally announced that the phone has been officially added to its lineup. The Sprint HTC One (E8) goes on sale today in Polar White or Misty Gray with silver accents for $99.99 with a two-year contract or $499.99 for those who don’t like signing their life away.
The HTC One (E8) for Sprint is very similar to the HTC One (M8), save for its polycarbonate chassis and standard 13 megapixel camera on the back. Specs on the HTC One (E8) include a 5-inch 1080p display, quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AC) processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, microSD card slot support (up to 128GB), 2,600 mAh battery, 13 megapixel camera rear camera and 5 megapixel “selfie” camera. The footprint of the HTC One (E8) measures 46.42 × 70.67 × 9.85mm, making it .5mm thicker than the HTC One (M8). If you want to purchase the HTC One (E8), just head on over to Sprint’s website.
There’s no evidence that the HTC One (E8) will be making its way to other US service providers, but Sprint’s press release does not claim exclusivity or any sort. As we saw with the HTC One (M8) for Windows launch, HTC is trying to give consumers as many smartphone options as possible across all US service providers.
