The HTC Butterfly S has been on the market for only a few months, but new evidence suggests HTC is already hard at work on the phones successor – the HTC Butterfly 2. While the original HTC Butterfly and Butterfly S both sported a 5-inch display, the Butterfly 2 rumors claim that the new device will be equipped with a 5.2-inch 1080p display. The phone will also be getting a bump in performance with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, though we do not know how much RAM or internal storage the device is expected to have. Like its predecessors, the Butterfly 2 will come in a variety of colors (leaked images show white, black and blue front panels) and will be water and dust resistant with a rating of IP7. The images of the HTC Butterfly 2’s front panels also show a slit for HTC’s trademarked BoomSound front-facing stereo speakers.
The HTC Butterfly 2 is not expected to be announced until January of next year, so get ready for a good three and a half months filled with countless leaks, pictures and more rumors. Stay tuned!
