Just as expected, HTC has started releasing the Android 4.0.4 update with Sense 4.1 to HTC One S handsets across Europe. The update includes all the system tweaks and fixes from Android 4.0.4 along with other HTC updates which include a lighter and more responsive HTC Sense 4.1, improved camera, UI tweaks and the option to remap the multi-tasking capacitive button to remove the menu bar from applications which have not yet been update for Android 4.0. Oddly enough, HTC has also included a new EA Gamebox app which does really do anything besides point users to new EA games on Google Play.
If you own an unlocked HTC One S in Europe, you can try to manually ping HTC’s update server by going to Settings > About Phone > HTC Software Updates > Check. HTC should be working closely with T-Mobile and other service providers to deliver the Android 4.0.4 to carrier branded versions of the HTC One S within the coming weeks. Once those updates roll out, HTC should have time to focus on the Android 4.1 update which it committed to last month.
