After months of rumors and a lot of speculation, Verizon has finally revealed that the HTC made DROID Incredible 4G LTE will go on sale July 5th. The price of the DROID Incredible 4G LTE is set $149.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate debit card. Though the handset is hitting the U.S. market much later than the HTC One X and One S, it’s specs are actually a step down. The DROID Incredible 4G LTE features a smaller 4-inch display, slower 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor and Verizon chose to forego the HTC ImageChip which set the HTC One series apart from the competition.
Though there are a few compromises, Verizon’s handset does feature two main benefits which are lacking in the HTC One S and One X – a removable battery and a microSD card slot for external storage. We’re not sure who was making the calls when the HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE was being designed, but we’re not exactly thrilled with the compromises that we’re made.
We’re hoping to get our hands on a review unit in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for our hands-on impressions of the device.
Are any of you planning to puck up the DROID Incredible 4G LTE on July 5th?

This is basically a re-tuned HTC Rezound (1.2 ghz S4 processor instead of 1.5 ghz S3. slightly lighter build). The Rezound costs $49-$99, depending on the deal, and this costs $149. The only other difference is that Droid Incredible 4G ships with Android 4.0, Rezound is waiting for ICS, and Incredible has Sense 4.0 while the Rezound has Sense 3.6 (not a big difference). Both phones have Beats Audio, but the Rezound ships with Beats earphones, the Incredible does not. I’m not sure where they were going with this design, either. The name recognition of the Incredible branding will only go so far in selling them.
