It may not be March, but T-Mobile is finally ready to release the Android 4.0 update for the HTC Sensation 4G. T-Mobile made the announcement via the Sensation 4G’s support page on their site, indicating that the Android 4.0.3 update for the HTC Sensation 4G would be available to download starting May 16th.
HTC initially announced that the update for the Sensation would arrive before the end of March, but rumored network performance issues during testing forced T-Mobile to send the software update back to HTC.
Once the Android 4.0.3 update is available from T-Mobile on May 16th, you can manually download the update by pressing Menu > Settings > About Phone > Software Updates > Check. To make sure you don’t run out of power while downloading and installing the Android 4.0 update on the HTC Sensation, make sure you have at least a 50% battery charge on your phone.
But the good news doesn’t stop there. T-Mobile HTC Amaze 4G owners should be ecstatic to learn that their phone’s Ice Cream Sandwich update is right around the corner as well. T-Mobile updated the Amaze 4G’s support page, indicating that the will be updates within the next few weeks. No specific date was mentioned, but we’re guessing T-Mobile will release the update as soon as all Sensation 4G owners have installed theirs.
