Registry Hack For Windows Phone Enables Instant Resuming In Applications!

This is an exciting development for Windows Phone 7 users, with a developer unlocked phone of course. The guys over at WindowsPhoneHacker have found a registry tweak that enables instant resume between applications and notifications. You can see it in action in the video below.

Back in February, as part of Steve Ballmer’s Microsoft keynote at the MWC

Belfiore demonstrated the new multitasking functions of Windows Phone which will allow users to quickly switch between applications, resume apps and use a new UI to check the state and switch to running apps

It all seemed a bit familiar, and the video demo, shows features coming in what is deemed the “Mango” update, expected late  2011. What we really should feel about this, well that Microsoft have built a good foundation, and that features that we want to see have already been thought about.

The guys at Windows Phone Hacker have unlocked some of the secrets of Windows Phone today, and maybe explained a lot about the way updates will work for the platform. Maybe at the core of WP7, everything is in place, has been thought of, but the hardware is not up to scratch to run it?

Be forewarned, however. This is not for the average user, and has some undesirable (though not crippling) side effects

This may be detrimental to battery life for one, and may also cause your phone to be a bit wonky, but if you want to be cutting edge.
