Android 2.3.5 with Sense 3.0 for HTC Desire HD and HTC Incredible S rolling out now

It’s been a while since HTC rolled out the Android 2.3.5 update with HTC Sense 3.0 to the HTC Desire S, but now they are adding two new phones to the updates list – the HTC Incredible S and the HTC Desire HD which launched late last year.  The new update delivers all the new features found in Android 2.3.5 along with the UI changes HTC first implemented on the HTC Sensation with Sense 3.0. The update is currently rolling out to the HTC Desire HD and HTC Incredible in the UK, but we suspect that it will also be hitting phones across the rest of Europe in the next few weeks.

HTC typically rolls out their updates in batches, but you can always try to trigger it manually by going to Menu > Settings > About Phone > Software Update > Check for Updates.

HTC has not given us any details around which phones they plan on updating to Android 2.3.5 with Sense 3.0, but we have a feeling that the HTC Desire Z, HTC Inspire 4G and the DROID Incredible2 could be next on the list.  Let us know how you like the Sense 3.0 on the HTC Desire HD and Incredible S in the comments below.

  4. Will it be going out on the normal HTC Desire? I cant find anywhere that specifys about the normal Desire. Mines not HD,S or Z just Desire?? Please help

    1. HTC has not officially announced anything for the original HTC Desire, but since there were issues even getting Gingerbread with HTC Sense 2.0 on the device, we doubt that we’ll be seeing Sense 3.0 on it.

  9. Hmm, I have just installed this on a DesireHD, and every time my phone rings in locked mode and I try to accept the call, the phone crashes and insists on the PIN code

  12. Got desire hd update yesterday ,I’m in Scotland and with t mobile . Update is great but I lost all my calendar entries on installation, good idea to back up all your data first . Still love.the update, like having a new phone,well done HTC and t mobile

  14. I have updated to the 2.3.5 version in the start of December. Since that update, my Incredible S looses its connection to the network several times a day. Every time it losses the connection, it lasts for 1-5 minutes before the connection is back. It lost the connection 17 times one day, and that was only what I saw. While I wrote this comment, the phone lost the connection one time.. HTC support said that I should try another simcard in my phone, but it doesn’t help… Have anyone else experienced this problem?

      1. HTC just told me that it isn’t possible to downgrade to 2.3.4. I need to redet the phone. If it dosn’t work, I need to send my phone to them for repair…..

    1. Go to setting then about phone and then software update and check for update but you must require Internet with unlimited data plan or wifi network. it’s size is 226 MB (about) and may take few hours depends on your bandwidth.

  18. What do the updates bring? Ive had a searched but am unalbe to find anyhere that provides a list of what the improviements that 2.3.5 and HTC 3.0 bring. Can anyone help?

  19. Hey anyone hear anything about this update for the Droid incredible 2 in America? I have been having a lot of issues with the last update for the incredible 2 and am slowley going crazy waiting for the next update

  21. I have an HTC Desire Z, which I think is an appalling phone with a lot of serious issues that HTC choose not to address or support.

    Anyway, I’m hanging out for the updates, my phone currently says there are none available, and is running:

    Android 2.3.3
    HTC Sense 2.1
    Build/Software 2.42.405.2

    This phone needs a lot of serious bug fixes to be even remotely tolerable… And patience is wearing thin. Unless they make a real good fix, real soon, I for one won’t be getting another HTC. And the ribbon cable’s already on its way out, after around a year.

    1. Me too, its almost a year since last update with this buggy shit. No more htc for me, desire z was my first and last htc.
      Now i will downgrade the os and root it.

      my HTC Desire Z says also there are no updates available and it is also running android 2.3.3 and HTC sense 2.1
      I thought I was the only 😛
      and I really want to know, is there no android 2.3.5 available for this phone?
      I can’t find enough information on the internet that answer my question -_-‘

  23. I have a desire Z and its become a pain to use this device almost for an yr after the last update to 2.3.3. this fone really needs an upgrade to the next.

  24. I am running gingerbread on my htc inspire 4g (htc stallion) but the version is 2.3.3. Will this phone ever get 2.3.5? and im also upset with the fact htc will not be pushing ics to the inspire but possibly the desire. not fair htc, not fair.

  25. I have the HTC Inspire 4G on AT&T…when will 2.3.5 hit this phone seeing as how we got effed out of ICS…..Anyone have any insight on this issue? Thanks.

    1. I have already upgraded to 2.3.3 and have found out that any phone with 768MB of ROM…hmm inspire has 768MB. whats the excuse now?

  27. Well, HTC finally did it for me. I dropped htc all together due to every phone I got getting cut from next update. iPhone 5S. Will never be cut from update ever again.
