HTC Bliss to offer women a unique Android experience

HTC may be at the top of their game right now, but that doesn’t mean there’s no room for improvement.  New rumors indicate that HTC may turn their attention towards women with a new handset known as the HTC Bliss.  According to the report, HTC has been hosting focus groups for women across the country to see what their take is on a new Android handset designed specifically for them.

While most of HTC’s phones have dark features and hard edges, the HTC Bliss will be available in a green hue which is said to invoke tranquility.  The back of the phone will be covered with soft-touch rubber for a better grip and it will also feature front and rear cameras.

Details on the software enhancements are a little vague, but it sounds like HTC will be preloading a few shopping, and calorie counter apps on the Bliss along with a collection of calming wallpapers.  An obvious enhancement that the rumor did not mention would be a customized skin for HTC Sense.

But in ordered to make the HTC Bliss stand out from the crowd, HTC may also be planning to create a dedicated line of accessories for the phone.  A desktop dock with speakers, car speaker with voice recognition, and matching Bluetooth headset as standard fair there days, but the real jewel in HTC’s accessory lineup will be the “charm indicator.”  This new accessory will come with a clip or hook so that it can be worn on a bracelet or attached to a purse and will light up wherever the HTC Bliss received a message or phone call.

We’re not sure how well the HTC Bliss will actually do when or if it goes on sale, but it’s nice to see that HTC has enough resources to produce a phone targeted superficially at women.  Do you think the HTC Bliss will be a success?   What do you thing HTC should do to better their phones towards women.

  1. OK, I get the point in creating a female phone, but Hey! – this is the 21st century – Where men and women are equal.
Hopefully, or view of women have moved beyond creatures that love to shop, keep a close watch on their weight and love bling.
