HTC is definitely known for their Windows Mobile and Android phones, but what many people forget is that HTC likes to dabble in different form factors from time to time. Rumors about an HTC tablet are nothing new, but today is the first time we are hearing about a possible Chrome OS powered table from HTC. According to Download Squad, Google has commissioned HTC to build a tablet device that will run their new Chrome OS. The hardware will include a 1280 x 720 multitouch display, 2GB of RAM, a hefty 32GB of internal storage, GPS, front facing webcam, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity.
The HTC tablet is rumored to makes its debut on Black Friday (November 26) and will be available on Verizon’s 3G network. The Chrome OS tablet is expected to be extremely cheap or even free for those who purchase a data plan though Verizon. We’ve been hoping for a tablet device from HTC for a while, but we’re not really sure how we feel about Chrome OS.
