First picture of upcoming HTC Desire HD hits the web

When we first heard about the upcoming HTC Desire HD (aka HTC Ace), we came to the conclusion that it would be a GSM version of the HTC EVO 4G for the European market. Now, the first picture of the HTC Desire HD has surfaced, proving that we were on the right track. The HTC Desire HD features a 4.3 inch display, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 8MP camera with 720p video recording, all running on Android 2.2

The HTC Desire HD is expected to launch in October and will most likely show up on all major EU and UK carriers. Though the HTC Desire HD does look to be a simple GSM replica of the HTC EVO, it will feature a few tricks its CDMA counterpart does not enjoy (yet).

  • Face tracking
  • SRS audio technology
  • Aluminum body
  • Xvid video codec suppor

  1. It’s kinda funny readying this article. That got my attention was not the article it self but the writers general knowledge.

    “The HTC Desire HD is expected to launch in October and will most likely show up on all major EU and UK carriers”.

    Does he/she know that UK is EU member state?

  2. Nice to see that the Desire HD in the wild.

    @faisal I totally agree with you on your comment, but the UK most the time does not like to be generalized with the rest of the EU.

  3. Well. I am a Mac User since more than 10 Years and i thought to buy an new iPhone this year. But then Apple became more and more disagreeable to me and i’m thinking to buy a HCT Desire. If it’s the Desire HD even better.

    In my country the iphone will not be available before september. maybe the Desire HD will be available by the same date 🙂

  4. @DROID Sam – Exactly. I’m in the UK, and if I read reports about things “coming to Europe” I automatically assume that *doesn’t* include the UK. We are a member state of the European Union, but we don’t consider ourselves part of Europe per se. We don’t use the Euro, for a start!

    Europe != European Union
