HTC continues to outshine its competitors by pushing out yet another Android Oreo update. This time around, the T-Mobiel HTC U11 life is the device blessed with the update – bringing the device inline with the same software built that the unlocked U11 life received nearly three weeks ago.
With Android Oreo onboard, the HTC U11 life also gets a few version of HTC Sense with most of the new software features which were included on the HTC U11+ which launched with Android Oreo onboard when it made its debut in early December. The most noteworthy changes include an updated launcher which allows you to open the app drawer or pulling down the notification shade by swiping up or down anywhere on the home screen. Since the U11 life also includes Edge Sense, HTC has also thrown in the Edge Launcher – giving you access to your favorite apps, shortcuts or contacts when you squeeze the edges of the phone.
If you happen to own the T-Mobile HTC U11 life, you can download the Android Oreo update by going to Settings > About > Software updates > Check now. The 1.32GB update file is quite large, so make sure you have a good WiFi connection to download it and you will need at least a 35% charge on the phone’s battery before the installation process can begin.
The update is still being installed on our device, but we’ll let you know if we find any other interesting software features.
