The HTC U11 hasn’t officially been unveiled yet, but since its November 2 launch date is coming up real soon, we thought this would be the perfect time to consolidate everything we know about the phone so that we can get a clear picture of what the device will have to offer.
Rumors about the HTC U11 Plus have been circulating for months, but we’ve only recently gotten enough details about the phone to paint a complete picture of it. The specifications indicate that the U11 Plus won’t more powerful than the HTC U11, but it will have a 6-inch edge-to-edge display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, a 3,930mAh battery, and wireless charging.

HTC U11 Plus Design
As you might expect, the U11 Plus will have the same liquid glass surface design as the standard U11. Some may not like a glass-backed phone since it can crack pretty easily, but there’s no denying that it looks simply spectacular.
While the back will look familiar, the front of the HTC U11 Plus will have a somewhat different look since the fingerprint has been transposed to the back of the phone to make room for the 18:9 aspect ratio display which nearly covers the entire front of the phone. There’s no denying that this is a much-needed change in HTC’s smartphone design, allowing the U11 Plus to match what flagship devices from Samsung, LG and other OEMs have done with their top-tier devices this year.
Oh, and let’s not forget the transparent glass back that HTC teased a few days ago. There’s still no hard evidence that the HTC U11 Plus will have a transparent color option, but we’d definitely pick one up if it were made available.
HTC U11 Plus price & availability
The HTC U11 Plus will be unveiled in Taiwan on November 2 at HTC’s headquarters. There are still no details regarding the official price or when the phone will hit store shelves, but pre-orders for the phone will likely start within a day or two of the unveiling. The phone will go on sale at HTC’s retail stores in Taiwan first and will likely be made available in Europe and North America through HTC’s online store within 2-3 weeks.
Since the HTC U11 Plus made its debut at $650, the U11 Plus will likely sell for $750 or $800. We do not expect HTC will want to content with the $850 sticker price of the Google Pixel 2 XL or the $950 that Samsung is charging for the Galaxy Note 8.

What I would like to know, if you heard anything is why is the front facing selfie camera less megapixels than the U11??? I have the U11, great phone, but why make the U11 plus with a lesser camera???

The smaller megapixel count for the front facing camera makes me think they are “Hardware UltraPixels” rather than “Software UltraPixels”
I was going to ask if your spelling/grammar checker is playing up, but technically there are no spelling errors. Having said that, check the second to last paragraph on this page Nick and you’ll see what I’m getting at … a little proof-reading would go a long way =)
