As expected, the month of June was kind to HTC. With a full month of HTC U11 sales under its belt, HTC has reported NT$6.89 billion in revenue for the month of June. That figure is 8.4% higher than it was a year ago and 52.1% higher than HTC’s reported revenue for the month of May. It’s also the largest figure we’ve seen from HTC since November of 2016.
Cumulatively, HTC’s revenue for the second quarter of 2017 sits at NT$16,136 billion.
HTC hasn’t managed to improve its standing when comparing the revenue figures to Q2 of last year, but we will need to wait until the company releases its full Q2 quarterly report to see if the internal restructuring has been enough for HTC to produce a small profit.
It’s obvious that the launch of the HTC U11 has had a significant impact on the company’s sales, but HTC will need to sustain this momentum throughout the next 3-4 months since the company doesn’t have many other phone in the pipeline. The launch of the Pixel 2 should give HTC’s revenue numbers a boost as well, but the impact of that phone’s launch will likely not be seen until September or October’s earnings report is released.
come on HTC!
