Edge Sense on the HTC U11 is a cool feature, allowing you to open apps on change system settings by squeezing the edges of the phone, but it has potential to do a whole lot more. HTC’s software team is hard at work on a variety of new tricks which will allow you to zoom in and out while in Google Maps or the Photos app, change the view in Calendar, answer or end calls and even dismiss notifications with a simple squeeze of the hand.
None of the features are as cool as what HTC showed off in the concept video it made for Edge Sense months before the phone was officially unveiled, but it’s nice to see that HTC U11’s unique feature has a whole lot more in store for us than what it originally launched with.
HTC U11 review: a return to glory
HTC is not saying when Edge Sense will get these new features, but they have shared a video of them in action.
