128GB Pixel XL is out of stock at Verizon

Since the launch of the Pixel and Pixel XL, those interested in buying Google’s new smartphones have had more than a few struggles in getting the devices from Google and Verizon. It appeared that Google has fixed the supply issue a week or two ago, but the Pixel XL with 128GB of storage is currently out of stock at Verizon. Those who purchase the phone from Verizon’s site have been receiving a message that their Pixel XL will not ship until November 26.

Obviously, Google underestimated demand of both Pixel phones – especially the larger Pixel XL. Samsung did the same thing with last year’s Galaxy S6 edge plus and lost out on a lot of additional revenue since people purchased the smaller phone or turned to an alternate device instead of waiting for supply to replenish. For HTC’s sake, we’re hoping that Google increases its Pixel and Pixel XL sales forecast between now and the end of the year. Pumping out more Pixel phones won’t help HTC’s position in the marketplace, but it will pump some much-needed cash into the company allow it to invest that money into development and marketing of the upcoming HTC 11.

  1. Shipping time and availability were always bad with Google. If they want to succeed they have to get much better.
