HTC didn’t manage to turn a profit in Q3, but the numbers appear to be going in the right direction. During the month of October, HTC pulled in $259 million in revenue. While that number is 8.66% lower than what HTC managed in October of 2015 and 12.43% lower that September’s revenue, it is the second-best month on the books for 2016.
HTC typically doesn’t do well during Q4 since Apple and Samsung typically have new flagship devices which push HTC’s smartphone off to the corner, but with HTC building Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, things should be different. Demand for the new Pixel phones has been high since they went on sale in October and we’re expecting that will have a nice impact on HTC’s bottom line. HTC is also gearing up for the launch of the HTC Bolt in the US and the HTC 10 EVO for global markets. We’re not expecting massive shipments of each device, but adding a new device to its lineup right before the holidays will definitely help HTC close out 2016 on a positive note.
