Two days after the HTC-built Pixel phones were unveiled, HTC has posted its September revenue report. Last month, HTC’s revenue came in at NT$ 9,332 billion — the highest revenue number HTC has posted all year. September’s revenue was nearly 42% higher than the previous month’s and jumped 31.3% when compared to September of 2015.
Adding September’s number to the previous two months gives us a total of NT$ 22.23 billion in revenue for the third quarter. That number is 3.75% higher than the NT$ 21.4billion in revenue that HTC posted in Q3 of 2015. We’ll have to wait until the beginning of November for HTC’s official Q3 report, but there’s a good chance that the company may finally be back in the black after posting losses for five consecutive quarters.
Seeing the needle move up is a good sign for HTC, but we still don’t have any indication if the jump in revenue has anything to do with the new Pixel devices. With the Pixel and Pixel XL set to make their retail debut on October 20 in a handful of countries across the globe, we’re assuming that HTC has already completed the first manufacturing run of the phones. That being said, we don’t know when HTC would have been paid for building those devices.
