During the month of August, HTC managed to pull in $209.94 million in sales, beating revenue from July by 4%. While August’s revenue was 4% lower than it was during the same month last year, HTC’s numbers appear to have stabilized over the past 6 months. Revenue for the entire year stands at $1.49 billion, but HTC is likely feeling good about its August numbers since they were only slightly lower than what the company posted in May when the HTC 10 went on sale.
With the unveiling of the HTC A9S, the scheduled launch of the HTC Desire 10 phones on September 20 and the launch of the HTC-built Pixel and Pixel XL phones for Google rumored for the first week of October, there’s a good chance that we’ll see an uptick in HTC’s revenue reports during the last quarter of the year. These new devices aren’t expected to outsell the Samsung Galaxy S7, the new iPhone or Huawei’s immensely popular P9, but they will put HTC back on the map and give customers more than one HTC smartphone option when they choose to buy a new device.
There’s no guarantee, but it looks like HTC may finally be headed in the right direction. Do you think HTC’s fall lineup will result in a profitable Q4 for the company?
