The HTC Desire 612 is no longer available from Verizon – eight months after the phone made its initial debut. The HTC Desire 612 was never expected to be a huge seller, but it was a half decent starter smartphone since it was offered for free with a new contract.
For now, there doesn’t seem to be an HTC replacement in the works for the Desire 612, but there’s always the possibility that one or more of the Desire phones that HTC unveiled at Mobile World Congress will be making their way to Verizon and other service providers in the US. Due to the price point of the Desire 612, the Desire 530 would seem like a natural fit, but we’re hoping the Desire 630 will be considered.
HTC Desire 612 was release in October 2014. So it’s been around for one year and eight months instead of just eight months. It’s sold alongside of Desire 626 which I believe was intended to replace 612. Now both 626 and 612 are no longer available at Verizon. With the fact that Desire 626/626s are also gone from AT&T, T-Mobile, and Boost Mobile, and the rumor that T-Mobile is getting Desire 530 soon. I agree that Desire 530 is most likely the replacement for Desire 626/626s as entry-level phone in HTC’s lineup in USA soon.
