After unveiling the HTC Desire 630 at Mobile World Congress back in February, HTC is finally bringing the budget-friendly smartphone to India. Priced at INR 14,990 ($222 USD), the HTC Desire 630 comes with a 5.0-inch 720p display, Snapdragon 400 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, 13MP main camera, 5MP front-facing camera, front-facing BoomSound speakers and a 2,200 mAh battery. The phone can be purchased directly from HTC’s eStore in India or from other online and offline merchants throughout the country.
While the HTC Desire 630 is a capable device, it will face stiff competition as devices within the same price bracket are equipped with faster processors and higher resolution displays. HTC’s devices have always sold for more than China and India’s budget smartphones, but HTC may have to rethink its strategy for India and China as cheap smartphones with good specs are now the norm.
