HTC has been getting a lot of attention from businesses eager to partner and be the first to adopt an enterprise virtual reality solution. We’ve seen partners like Audi, BMW, theme parks, and other types of businesses invest in the HTC Vive as a premier VR solution. With the Vive being sold to large companies in big quantities there’s a clear need for them to be able to purchase additional accessories for what ever the case may be.
Over the weekend, a couple of users from VRtalk.com posted how they were browsing the main HTC storefront and stumbled upon a Vive accessories page. The page had a banner exactly like the image above that implied the listings were for enterprise customers and within a few minutes the page was no longer showing any details. Before it disappeared the users were able to record some of the prices for accessories and even some screen shots. Let’s check out what they found below.
Accessories:
– Base Station with AC: $135
– Controller with AC: $130
– HDMI 3-in-1 Cable: $40
– Control Box (no AC): $30
– USB 2.0 Cable (AA) 4.5mm $10
– Face Cushion Set of 2 (Narrow) $25
– Face Cushion Set of 2 (Wide) $25
– Nose Rest Set of 3 (Narrow): $13
– Nose Rest Set of 3 (Wide): $13
Practically everything for the Vive is listed except for the headset itself. We’re not sure if the base stations include the super long sync cable either and we’re surprised that item isn’t listed by itself. Maybe it will be, but for now these are the details we have access to. Prices and availability are subject to change since these details haven’t been officially published. This could have been a mock page with random figures thrown in to give HTC execs an idea of the storefront.
Someday soon, business and hopefully regular consumers will have access to extra accessories, but for now if something unfortunate happens to your Vive you should contact HTC support and request an RMA if something needs to be replaced. That means you’ll have some downtime, but at least your part will get replaced.
