We think that the HTC 10 is a stunning device, but would HTC and Google use the basic design of the phone of the upcoming Nexus phones (T50 and T55) which are expected to land in the second half of 2016? A Reddit thread explores this possibility, sharing a Photoshopped image of the HTC 10 with design features pulled from Google’s 2015 Nexus devices.
The main changes include a larger display with slimmer bezels, front-facing speakers and a circular fingerprint sensor which is mounted on the back of the phone. Naturally, there’s also a massive Nexus logo on the back to ensure that the phone isn’t mistaken for the HTC 10.
We think that HTC got a lot of things right with the design of the HTC 10, but we’re not sold on the idea that HTC’s 2016 Nexus phones should look like the company’s flagship device. If you look back at the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, there is little resemblance between those phone and the flagship devices that Huawei and LG released in 2015. HTC’s design team is definitely capable of delivery stellar-looking Nexus on its own, but we have a feeling that Google will be bring a lof of design ideas to the table. Based on what we’ve seen from the latest Pixel devices, that’s definitely not a bad thing.
Are there any unique HTC design features that you would like to see incorporated into the 2016 nexus smartphones?
