T-Mobile and Verizon HTC One M8 receiving Marshmallow update

Five weeks after the Sprint HTC One M8 was updated to Android 6.0, the T-Mobile and Verizon variants of the phone are now receiving the same update. The Android Marshmallow update for the HTC One M8 is packed with quite a few new features which include adoptive storage (allow you to integrate your microSD card’s capacity into the main system partition), doze (allows your phone’s battery to last longer by turning off background processes and data usage when the phone doesn’t move for long periods of time), Google Now on Tap, in addition to HTC’s Sense-specific tweaks to priority notification, UI changes and new theming options.

If your Verizon or T-Mobile branded HTC One M8 has yet to receive its update notification, you can try jumping to the front of the link by going to Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check Now. The Android Marshmallow update is over 1GB, so we recommend finding a good WiFi connection and a 1 hour time slot when you know you will not be needing your phone. Since the HTC One M8 is nearly two years old, this will likely be the last major Android update that the phone will receive.
