For months, we’ve known that the HTC 10 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor (with a possible MediaTek variant as well), but new information seems to indicate that HTC will have even more variants with different RAM and processor configurations.
An image sourced from Weibo shows the price, processor and RAM and internal storage configurations for three different variants of the HTC 10 for the Chinese market. If the image if legitimate, Chinese buyers will have the option to pick up the HTC 10 in the following configurations:
- Snapdragon 652, 3GB RAM, 16GB ROM – RMB 3,799 ($585 USD)
- Snapdragon 820, 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM – RMB 4,999 ($768 USD)
- Snapdragon 820, 4GB RAM, 128GB ROM – RMB 5,888 ($905 USD)
The fact that HTC has multiple configurations of the HTC 10 for the Chinese market isn’t surprising, but the prices which accompany each device appear to be a bit high. We don’t have any clear indication as to the HTC 10’s price in Europe or North America, but we doubt HTC will be increasing the price of its flagship phone by 20% over last year.
If given the option, we know that most of you would opt for the Snapdragon 820 variant of the HTC 10 over the one equipped with the Snapdragon 652. That being said, quite a few people may be interested in the SD 652 option if it’s price tag is 24-25% lower than the more powerful HTC 10. If the 820 version of the HTC 10 were to sell for $650 (same price as last year’s HTC One M9), the 652 version of the HTC 10 could go for as little as $490.
