There are about a half dozen or do subscription music services on Android which are worth paying for. Everyone has their favorite, but I have a soft spot for Google Play Music. The standard $9.99 plan get you unlimited access to a library of 35 million songs and Google even lets you upload 50,000 if your own songs to its cloud service so that you can stream them from where every you are. The only down side to all of this is that you can’t really share Google Play Music since the service limits playback to one device at a time.
That will changes with the rollout of Google Play Music family plan. Bumping up your subscription from $9.99 to $14.99 will give you and five other people to share the subscription music service. This also means that each user gets personalized music recommendations and customized playlists which aren’t cluttered up by the listening habits of someone else in your family. TO make the offer even more appealing, US customer also get free access to YouTube Red. For those who don’t know, YouTube Red is a subscription service which allows you to watch YouTube videos without seeing any ads. It also allows you to download video on your device to view them offline.
Google is slowly opening up availability of Google Play Music family plans to all its subscribers. If you haven’t already seen an invitation to the new service plan, you should see one pop up in the app before the end of the week.
If Google Play music and its new family plan aren’t for you, let us know which streaming music service you recommend.
