As promised by HTC the HTC One M9 and HTC One A9 (unlocked models) are receiving their respective updates. Earlier this month, HTC broadcast over social media that the unlocked One M9 would get Android Marshmallow before the end of the year and that the latest Android security update available for Marshmallow would be pushed to the One A9 as well.
HTC is keeping on a good track to keep up with the recent commitment to release Android security updates 15 days after Google Nexus devices get them.
Happy Holidays! Updates to the Unlocked A9 6.0.1 and Unlocked M9 6.0 will be able to be downloaded within next 24 hours! Enjoy 🙂

While the releases have been great for unlocked phones, users are eager to know when their eligible carrier products will be updated.
When is my [insert carrier name here] HTC phone going to be updated?
The best thing for those reading this to do is to check HTC’s update process page to see where your phone is in the game.
My HTC One M8 is on Stage 3 which is the test/certification phase, but I have a strong feeling the One M8 is only on step 9, which is the first step of stage 3 for carrier devices. HTC has done a great job with the past couple of major Android updates, but something could have set HTC back this time and they could be very slow out the gate with the carrier software updates this time.
I’m not sure what kind of delays HTC could be running into, but maybe the big employee cutbacks this year are having an effect on the software development department.
Only time will tell and all we can do anyway is sit back and wait patiently for the new Android update. My HTC One M8 has been a solid phone since it’s release and the latest Android version isn’t going to make it that much better. -end of rant.
