Star Ward fans now can share their allegiance to the Light Side or Dark Side of the force thanks to Google’s new Awaken the Force Within app and service customizations. Just head on over to google.com/starwars and you’ll be given the option to choose between the Light Side and the Dark Side. Once your allegiance is set, Google will customize the apps on your phone and its services on the web based on which side you chose. The battle between the two sides isn’t likely to end any time soon, but Google will be tracking which side of the force its users prefer and will display the balance of power on its site.
Fortunately, your allegiance to one side isn’t set in stone. If you want to switch from dark to light of light to dark, just head back to google.com/starwars and make the switch. We’re sure that Disney paid Google quite a bit of money to offer this new customization service, but we’re hoping that we will see more customization options like this in the future tied to other major brands, movie or even video game launches.
