The HTC One A9 (Hima Aero) launch may be closer than you think. HTC has released a September 6th launch teaser which shows the silhouette of a phone which appears to match up with the leaked images of the A9 which surfaced last week. On the specs side, the HTC One A9 isn’t expected to dethrone the M9. Instead, the HTC One A9 is expected to introduce us to a new aesthetic design with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4 which curves around the edges of the phone and deliver “groundbreaking” camera capabilities.
As exciting as it is that the HTC One A9 may be unveiled in less than a week, it’s disappointing to see that the teaser has only been posted to Weibo. While not conclusive, this may be a sign that the HTC One A9 will be a China or Asia-only device. We understand that China is a huge growth market for HTC, but the company can’t expect to regain market share if it continues to build phones exclusively for individual markets. Hopefully that’s not the case this time around.
