After months of rumors and speculation, the mysterious HTC one M9+ has finally been unveiled. HTC pulled back the curtain on the new smartphone today in China, revealing a device which matches up perfectly with the leaked specs and images that we’ve been feasting on.
The HTC One M9+ features the same overall design of the HTC One M9, but a new multi-directional fingerprint scanner is been added to the front of the phone (placed below the display, right in the middle of the BoomSound speaker grill) and a circular DuoCamera has replaced the single sensor camera that’s featured on the standard One M9. As for specs, the HTC One M9+ is equipped with a 5.2-inch QHD LCD display, octa-core MediaTek MT6795T processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The DuoCamera on the back sports a 20 megapixel main sensor and the front-facing camera is equipped with the same UltraPixel sensor found on the HTC One M9.
While the HTC One M9+ may be better than the HTC One M9 on paper, we’ll have to wait to get our hands on one before we can decide which device is actually better. For now, the HTC One M9+ has only been announced for China, but we might see the device pop up in other markets in the months to come. Expect pricing and availability of the HTC One M9+ to be announced in the coming weeks.
