HTC’s popular video highlight reel app took a bold move when it went from only being available on on HTC devices like the HTC One M7 and up to joining other HTC apps on the Google Play store. When HTC made this app available to the public it was reinvented with a social twist allowing your “friends” to remix your highlights with their own touches.
The HTC Zoe app makes it possible for users to create quick, custom video highlight with a series of pictures and videos sync’d to HTC’s themes or your own downloaded music files. HTC does a great job changing slides to the beat of the songs along with transitions and special effects. If the random mix isn’t preferred then tap the remix button to shuffle the content for another go at it.
After a Zoe is created it can be shared publicly on your favorite social networks or keep them exclusive by uploading your creations to the Zoe social space where friends can interact and offer kudos to your videos.
HTC Zoe has a few primary features, but can be used for much more. Basic features include:
- Send Zoe highlight videos directly to friends, and invite them to remix yours.
- Instantly share to social networks like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and more.
- Interact with friends by giving and receiving hearts and comments.
- Share publicly and privately (friends only).
- Upload as much as you want.
To create your own Zoe, grab the app then add several of your favorite photos/videos. The HTC Zoe app will automatically mix your content and you can select different pre-installed songs that include varying photo and video enhancements to bring your story to life. Your friends on Zoe can modify the content you created by rearranging and it even allows then to add their own content as well.
When I use the Zoe app it is to see what unique ways my friends are sharing their personal content and then trying to share my latest adventure with excellent tracks and video effects. Search for me, Andy Medders when you open your Zoe app and look for new friends. There may be multiple accounts with my name, but don’t worry, they’re mine. When the account debuted on the Play store it automatically used one of my secondary email addresses and in the beginning the app couldn’t handle associating with another account.
HTC has offered quite a photo tool to not just HTC users, but anyone with an Android device and it even has support for the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9. To date, this app has been downloaded 10 million times and has a user rating of 3.7 out of 5. The app needs the following permissions on your phone: Identity, Contacts, Location, Photos/Media/Files, Camera, Wi-Fi connection information, Device ID & call information, and a few others.
