HTC is continuing to decouple HTC Sense from its core apps today by making its Internet app available through Google Play. If you have an HTC device running HTC Sense 6, you can download the HTC Internet app which does have a few bug fixes and an updated “Read late” feature.
With the HTC Internet app now on Google Play, HTC now has over a dozen of its code Sense 6 apps separated, allowing them to fix bugs and roll out new features to millions of handset owners without needing to release an OTA software update which has to be approved by Google and service providers across the globe. We expect to see a few more HTC apps hit Google Play in the next few months, but we’re really interested to see how things play out once HTC Sense 7 is release with the new flagship phone later this spring. We’re hoping that HTC will simply update all of its core apps through Google Play with any new features it introduces with Sense 7 so that current HTC users don’t have to wait 2-6 months to receive new software features which are not hardware dependent.
Actually I would like to know why I can’t download HTC Camera on Google Play to have its update, if I have an HTC One M8. Maybe it’s because I’m using ViperOneM8 ROM (Sense-based)?
As others have stated, the custom ROM is the issue. The ROM does not have the proper digital signature needed for the Play Store to identify it as an HTC One (M8). You’ll probably have to wait for an update to the ViperOneM8 ROM which will include the latest HTC app updates.
what a pitty =/
rooted rom can cause that type of issues
i used to do tech support for HTC thru a call center and rooted roms void warranty unless u have a dev edition device.
