The HTC Desire lineup got a little stronger this week at CES with the introduction of the HTC Desire 826. The device sits within HTC’s “mid-range flagship” lineup, sporting a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 1.7GHz 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD expansion, 13-megapixel camera on the back, UltraPixel camera on the front 2600mAh. The phone is running Android 5.0 with HTC Sense 6 which means the software can take advantage of the 64-bit processor architecture of the Snapdragon 615 and deliver superior performance.
The desire of the HTC Desire 826 is a mix between some of the major design feature we’ve seen in HTC’s Desire family recently. The BoomSound speakers on the front have the same slit layout as what we saw of the HTC Desire Eye while the sides and back of the phone are nearly identical to those of the HTC Desire 820.
The launch date for the HTC Desire 826 isn’t set in stone yet, but HTC is expecting it to be available in by the end of the month. But if you are hoping to get your hands on the HTC Desire 826, you might have to wait a while. HTC will be releasing the Desire 826 in a few markets in Asia with no announced plan to bring it to bring it to the rest of the world. HTC didn’t reveal the price point of the HTC Desire 826, but it should come in slightly higher than the HTC Desire 820 which ranged from $350 to $400.
