With more and more HTC One (M8 EYE) rumors popping up, we’re a bit surprised it took this long to finally get an image of the upcoming phone. A new promo image of the HTC One (M8 EYE) made its way into Weibo yesterday, confirming previous rumors that the phone would share its design with the HTC One (M8). A new detail revealed in the image is actually displayed on the phone’s screen. The image shows HTC One (M8 EYE) capturing video from the front and rear cameras simultaneously, a software feature we have yet to see on HTC phones.
Keep in mind, the HTC One (M8 EYE) isn’t the same phone as the HTC Eye – the “ultimate selfie phone.” The HTC Eye is feature an enhanced front-facing camera while the HTC One (M8 EYE) is simply the HTC Butterfly 2 dressed up at the HTC One (M8). The whole thing could just be an elaborate joke since Halloween’s right around the corner.
Either way, HTC is holding a press event in New York next week, so we should get some insight into what HTC is planning to release this fall. Since the HTC One (M8 EYE) is expected to only launch in China and India, the HTC EYE may be the only new smartphone we see at next week’s event.
