We must be getting close to the launch of the HTC Nexus 9. On Saturday, the tablet’s FCC approval documents were revealed and today we’re getting our first look at the new tablet. While HTC’s flagship smart phones have been shipping with aluminum unibody designs, the leaked Nexus 9 images shows the back of the tablet with a soft-touch polycarbonate finish. Naturally, the center on the tablet sports Google’s Nexus logo, but HTC branding is also present, though noticeably smaller.
As we pointed out in the Nexus 9’s FCC story, the tablet’s aspect ratio That’s closer to 4:3 rather than the 16:9 aspect ratio we traditionally see on Android tablets. This change isn’t ideal for watching YouTube or Netflix, but it does give users more room to get work done and offers a more enjoyable web surfing experience.
Do you think the HTC Nexus 9 will help HTC establish itself as a dominant player in the Android tablet space?
