The mysterious HTC EYE has finally stepped into the light, revealing its design most of its specifications. According to the latest rumor, the HTC EYE will be unveiled as the HTC Desire Eye, sporting quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 clocked at 2.3GHz, a 5.2-inch 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage and a 13 megapixel camera on the back with a dual-LED flash. But since the HTC Desire Eye is being dubbed the “ultimate selfie phone,” HTC is also throwing in a massive 13 megapixel front-facing camera and dual-LED flash on the front as well. But that’s not all; the Desire Eye will have a 2,400 mAh removable batter (yes, you read that right) and an IPX7 rating which will allow the phone to be submerged in 1 meter of water for at least 30 minutes.
The new details are accompanied by two images which show off the front and back of the HTC Desire Eye. Like the HTC Desire 820, the Desire Eye will feature a two-tone color finish. Because of the massive camera lens and flash on the front of the phone, we suspect the HTC Desire Eye will not have BoomSound speakers.
The HTC Desire Eye is expected to be unveiled in four days at HTC’s Double Exposure press event in New York. Previous rumors claimed that the phone will be picked up by all four major US service providers, but we still don’t know when the public will be able to purchase the HTC Desire Eye.
Where are speakers? Lol
Same thoughts here.
The HTC Desire Eye is a great smartphone. The design might be plastic, but it’s a solid, well constructed and weather-proofed handset pitched at a fair price point. It’s good in use thanks to having plenty of power on board, and has a great display too – albeit a large one.
I believe the speakers ain’t that importent since as was said there selfies are all nowadays.
