After last week’s unveiling of the HTC One (E8) for India, we’re now hearing that HTC’s alternative flagship Android phone is destined for Russia. According to Hi-Tech Mail, HTC is planning to launch the HTC One (E8) in Russia before the end of July with a price tag of RUB 25,000 (roughly $715). The price is definitely a lot higher than what HTC is charging for the One (E8) in India ($583) and China ($450), but it’s still quite a bit lower than Russia’s RUB 30,000 ($860) sticker price for the metal-clad HTC One (M8).
We understand that devices need to be priced differently for various markets across the globe, but we’re a bit surprised that there’s such a vast chasm between these markets. It’ll be hard to replicate the HTC One (E8)’s pre-order success in China if the price of the phone continues to rise as it moves further west.
