Taiwan is the latest market to get access to the HTC One (E8). The plastic variant of the HTC One (M8) is now being promoted in HTC’s home country with a NT$14,900 (US$497) price tag. The body and camera setup of the HTC One (E8) may be inferior when compared to the HTC One (M8), but those sacrifices do shave 30% off the price of the phone.
It looks like HTC is slowly expanding the reach of the HTC One (E8) to major markets, but so far the device’s availability has been limited to Asian markets which typically can’t afford the high prices demanded by smartphone makers for flagship phones. Since HTC has continually lost market share in the West, it’s not surprising to see the company shift its focus a little so gain traction in a few new markets.
