A closer look: Wrap-up review of the HTC One M8

The all new HTC One M8 is upon us and instead of throwing together a lengthy article a few words short of being called an e-Book we decided to take a little more time focusing on specific areas of the user experience so we could produce a series of articles for a quality reading experience. Thanks for tuning into this series and we appreciated your comments as we explored the HTC One M8 together. Below is a wrap-up of our journey with the HTC One M8 so far, but fear not we have more of the M8 to share with you since we can’t get enough of our new favorite phone.

It all begins with the design

Last year, HTC hit a grand slam when we were introduced to the HTC One M7 and that beautiful metal body. HTC has clearly found a winning combo and the boundaries were stretched even further when HTC wrapped medal around the corners of the HTC One M8 covering more than 90% of the surface of the phone. This phone is solid and since there is nothing on the market quite like it we compared it with the HTC One M7 as we looked closer at the design: HTC One M8 Design and comparison to the HTC One M7

It’s almost like having a sixth sense

HTC’s user interface has drawn a lot of attention in the past. A lot of it was good and then concerns of the software being bloated started popping up plus Android’s stock appearance began to improve taking away the need to rely on a manufacturer’s enhancements. HTC Sense 6.0 gives the user more than a handful of useful resources with several ways to wake the phone; it doesn’t get in your way when you need to jump into a task. Sense integrates your personal life with your phone bringing closer to your friendships, not further away with more steps to accomplish the same tasks similar to the experience on other devices. The HTC One M8 keeps up with the latest news, social networks, and even your FitBit activity. It will even change the channel for you while searching for your favorite program. Capture and create memories

VIDEO0001_0000000537HTC is beyond making a cookie-cutter smartphone and the evidence is all over the HTC One M8. When you flip it over you notice not one, but two camera lenses on the back. Take a picture and find all sorts of unique editing features like: Ufocus, Foregrounder, and 3Dimensions. Put all of your shots together automatically in the HTC Gallery and share more than a moment with your friends; share the entire memory. HTC One M8 Cameras

This phone keeps going, and going, and going

When the HTC One M8 debuted some may have thought, “Boo, the battery isn’t much bigger than the HTC One M7.” And then we saw a couple of battery saver modes that can stretch the remaining ounces of battery juice to almost 15 hours of up time. Battery life on the HTC One M8

Functional accessories

A flip case you don’t even have to open to interact with your phone, because you can make and take calls, adjust volume control, dismiss calendar appointments and check the time and weather.
