The all new HTC One (HTC M8) benchmark score outclasses the competition

Four new pictures of the HTC M8 (the all new HTC One) have surfaced, giving us our first clear look at the top side of the phone and a preview of its processing power. Though the all new HTC One features a unibody aluminum chassis that seamlessly wraps around the back and sides of the phone, HTC has chosen to insert a shiny plastic inlay on the top edge of the device. We’re assuming that there’s an IR sensor behind the plastic, but HTC may still have a surprise or two for us despite the fact that more of the phones hardware features were leaked months ago.

The second image to stand out shows the results screen of the AnTuTu Benchmark app. The exact score for the all new HTC one has been pixelated, but the bar graph shows the handset exceeding the 36,000 mark, outperforming the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Sony Xperia X Ultra and the LG G2. The score is actually a little higher than what the Snapdragon 801-powered Sony Xperia Z2 (33,400) and Samsung Galaxy S5 (35,500) are able to produce. To put things into perspective, with an AnTuTu score of 37,000, the all new HTC One outperforms the 2013 HTC One by more than 35%.

Even though we know exactly what the all new HTC One looks like and what internal specs it will be equipped with, new leaks and HTC’s teasers should manage to keep us fixated on the device until its March 25th unveiling.
