Nearly a week after the Android 4.4 update for the Sprint HTC One rolled out, @moversi has announced that the Verizon branded HTC One Android 4.4 update has passed inspection. While the OTA rollout details are fuzzy, we’ve typically seen updates hit HTC handsets 24-48 hours after similar announcements. If you happen to own a Verizon HTC One, we suggest manually checking for the Android 4.4 update manually every few hours (Settings > About > Software updates > Check now).
Originally, HTC promised that carrier branded HTC One devices in the US would be updated to Android 4.4 with HTC Sense 5.5 by the end of January. Unfortunately, HTC was not able to meet that self-imposed deadline, promising that the remaining HTC One handsets in the US would see the update delivered within two weeks. Now that the Verizon HTC One update is nearly here, the spotlight will not turn of AT&T and T-Mobile.
HTC One Verizon Owners! We have received technical approval for the OS 4.4 + Sense 5.5 update today. Expect the OTA out shortly. Thanks!
