HTC may not have found success with the HTC Flyer and Jetstream, but the smartphones manufacturer’s failure in the tablet segment may soon come to an end. Recent reports have indicated that Google and HTC will be partnering to bring a high-end Nexus tablet to market in the second half of 2014 and a new story out of Taipei claims HTC will be replacing Samsung to manufacture a new Nexus 10.
The source of this new rumor also claims Google initially approached HTC back in 2012, asking the company to partner with them in the development of the Nexus 7. HTC apparently declined the offer before Google turned its attention to Asus. While Google has had huge success with the Nexus 7 so far, the Samsung built Nexus 10 was never quite as popular despite getting great reviews. It will be interesting to see if HTC and Google can deliver a successful 10-inch Nexus tablet in 2014.
