With the launch of the HTC One’s replacement scheduled for March 25th, HTC’s Mobile World Congress announcements are all centered on budget-friendly Android devices. If the HTC Desire 816 is a “flagship mid-rang” device, we’re thinking that the HTC Desire 610 is a mid-range, mid-range device. The HTC Desire 610 comes with a 4.7-inch 960 x 540 display, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC, 1GB of RAM, 2,040mAh battery, 8 megapixel camera on the back with f/2.4 aperture, front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera, 8GB of internal storage, microSD expansion (up to 64GB), front-facing BoomSound stereo speakers, nano-SIM support and LTE radio EMEA or Asian markets.
The HTC Desire 610 looks a lot more like the new HTC Desire 816 than the HTC Desire 601 and desire 600 which hit store shelves in the second half of 2013. In fact, the only distinguishable differences between the HTC desire 610 and the 816 are size, placement for camera on the back and the BoomSounds speakers. HTC plans on launching the HTC desire 610 in Europe and Asia in May. Pricing details for the HTC desire 610 were not released, but consumers should expect a price tag that’s $50-100 less than that of the HTC Desire 816.
good
The HTC Desire 610 is a good phone, but it has to compete with some exceptionally good value phones. At current prices there are better options, but it’s worth considering if you can find a good deal.
