The unnamed HTC Desire handset is said to feature a 5-inch 720p display, 1.5GB of RAM, expandable storage, 8 megapixel camera and an octa-core MediaTek processor. The mystery HTC Desire handset could breathe new life into the HTC’s mid-range Android segment. The phone will be available in yellow, orange, blue and red – offering a more playful color pallet than what we are typically used to from HTC. On the software side, the mystery HTC Desire will not be running on Android 4.4, at least not yet since the device will launch with Android 4.3 and Sense 5.5. The device will probably not be unveiled until after the HTC M8, but we suspect HTC wants to keep HTC Sense 6 tied to its flagship Android device for at least a month or two. According to the source of the images, the phone could be priced right around 2,000 Yuan (roughly $330 USB) which would put it in direct competition with the Xiaomi Mi3. The Chinese market does have quite a few Android phones that come in below 2,000 Yuan, but only a few of those devices are actually worth buying.
What’s your take on this new HTC Desire phone for China? Do you think HTC can come up wit ha winning combination which will allow it to directly compete with the Xiaomi Mi3?

Can you say 5c killer? Would compete well against the 5c if they decide to bring it here. I’m glad that more budget friendly large screen phones are appearing.
Good move HTC…about time to make enough mid-range devices to back up the flagship HTC M8. But i want SD card expansion and removable bigger battery on my M8 pls pls pls. Or i hope they also bring a 5.2″-5.5″ 1080p or 2K screen Desire 8 like design device…this time with an all screen face with little or no bezel top n bottom, onscreen keys, SD800+ chip, 3GB RAM, 32/64GB internal storage plus SD card slot and of course a 3500+mAh juicer. They should be working on this, if not at it already.
